Prairiewood Elementary

District 200 students receive an articulated, standards-based curriculum from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grades.  As children progress through the grades, their courses are designed to provide a continuous succession of learning objectives and benchmarks with each course presenting information for the next to build upon.  Students throughout the district are taught the same course content at the same grade level with the same benchmarks and essential learnings.  Subject matter for each grade level adheres to State statute.

In addition to the general academic program, District 200 also offers a wide variety of programs for students with special needs and talents including services for students identified as academically gifted, dual language and transitional bilingual education programs, and a continuum of special education programs and services for children with disabilities who are between the ages of 3 through 21.
